OMINOUS GRIEF was formed in 1998 , when the guitarists
Kutsal and Cüneyt came together after hanging “looking for a band” notices
around without being aware of each other for a while.They started studio
rehearsals even before there were no other members.Some time later , Yiğit and
Guun joined them as the drummer and the
bass guitarist.The lyrics and the music of that time formed the base of the
concept today. Kutsal and Guun started to handle the vocals also after it
became evident that no one around would be able to do the vocals as
intended.Without losing time , their first demo was recorded to get the
reactions from the listeners.This demo work was named “Black Aeon Dominion”.The
reactions were highly encouraging and the band released an EP “Reborn(Into The
Night)” through a local independent
label. This event marked the beginning
of their rapid rise in the Turkish music market.The band took place in many festivals
amd concerts along with TV and radio programmes which helped them to draw eevn
more attention.Despite the critics that the music was polyphonic enough and no
keyboard was needed.Ozan joined the band in 2000.With the parting Yiğit and Kutsal
, Çağlar was selected as the new drummer and Ulas as the guitarist.When final line-up
settled the band , without caring about the days passing without an album .
composed & recorded many songs in their own style.Ominous Grief would like
to release all the songs they made by a decade of togetherness.For realizing
this goal , the first album “Nothing in Remembrance” has been released.
